The Director of HR is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the human resources department within an organization. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements and promote best practices.
- Oversee employee relations, including resolving conflicts, mediating disputes, and ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
- Manage recruiting and onboarding processes to attract and retain top talent for the organization.
- Provide leadership and guidance to HR staff, including training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives that support the organization's overall goals and objectives.
- Monitor and report on HR metrics, such as turnover rates, employee engagement, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Stay abreast of changes in HR laws and regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate risks for the organization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior HR role, with a proven track record of success.
- Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations, including EEO, ADA, FMLA, and FLSA.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and other HR technology tools.
Preferred Skills:
- Master's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
- HR certification, such as SHRM-CP or PHR.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Knowledge of best practices in talent management, organizational development, and diversity and inclusion.
- Experience implementing and managing HR programs and initiatives.
Work Environment or Location:
The Director of HR typically works in an office setting, with regular business hours. However, occasional evening or weekend work may be required to attend meetings or events. This role involves frequent interaction with employees at all levels of the organization, as well as external stakeholders such as vendors, partners, and government agencies. Travel may be required for conferences, training, or other professional development opportunities.
