The Compensation & Benefits Analyst plays a pivotal role in shaping the organizational compensation strategy and ensuring competitive, equitable, and effective employee benefits programs. Responsibilities encompass a wide range of duties, including but not limited to, conducting market research to stay abreast of industry trends, analyzing market data to ensure competitiveness of salary structures, and collaborating with management to design comprehensive benefit packages that align with organizational goals and employee needs.
Developing job evaluation systems and salary structure designs, and serving as the primary point of contact for all compensation and benefits-related inquiries and concerns are additional key duties. The analyst will create and maintain compensation and benefits-related reports, and liaise with external vendors to negotiate benefits plans and rates.
Qualifications for this role typically require a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field, and a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in compensation and benefits. A Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification is highly desired. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical, research, and strategic planning skills, along with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel and SQL, and experience using HR information systems is essential.
The Compensation & Benefits Analyst is expected to have a comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws as they relate to compensation and benefits, and ensure compliance with all regulations. The individual should exhibit high levels of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity, and maintain a customer-focused approach in all interactions with employees and management.
This role requires the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines. The Compensation & Benefits Analyst will also contribute to organizational objectives by providing insights and recommendations to ensure a strong, competitive employee value proposition, thus promoting retention, attracting talent, and enhancing overall workforce effectiveness.
