The IT Support Specialist role is a critical position within our organization, responsible for providing high-quality technical assistance to all users. This role requires a proficient individual with a strong foundation in various IT support areas, including hardware, software, network, and system management.
Primary responsibilities include:
1. Troubleshooting and resolving a wide range of technical issues reported by users via phone, email, or remote support tools.
2. Providing timely and effective resolutions to minimize the impact on user productivity.
3. Setting up and configuring new user systems, ensuring they are properly integrated into the network and software infrastructure.
4. Performing regular system maintenance and upgrades to ensure optimal network performance.
5. Collaborating with the IT department to implement new IT projects, policies, and procedures.
6. Acting as a liaison between end-users and other IT personnel to ensure smooth communication and efficient problem resolution.
7. Documenting all support interactions and issues for future reference and to support continuous improvement.
8. Participating in on-call rotation for after-hours support as required.
Qualifications for this role include:
1. A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is highly preferred.
2. Proven experience in a similar IT Support role, with a strong understanding of various IT support functions.
3. Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and various networking protocols.
5. Knowledge of IT service management best practices, such as ITIL, is a plus.
6. A customer-focused approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. A valid driver's license and reliable transport for on-site visits when necessary.
